Use Your Support Team Stay in regular contact with your Project Advisor and Content Expert. Determine, with your Gold Award Committee Mentor, how often to touch base with each other. Remember, all of these people are here to help you! CHANGES: If you are making any changes from your original application, you must submit a revision for the committee's approval. Your final project report will be approved based on your original application. If you make changes without the committee's knowledge and approval, your final report will not be accepted. Send an e-mail to your Committee Mentor stating what you need to change and why. Be sure to turn in your Biography Page so Totem Council can publicize your project. If you have an event or presentation, notify Heather Cutting at heatherjc@girlscoutstotem.org so she can try to arrange for the media to be there. Cover Your Bases Does your project require that a First Aid-certified adult be present? Consult Safety-Wise for potential safety issues and program standards. Will you be raising money for your project? Go to www.girlscoutstotem.org/FormsIndex.htm to get a copy of the Application for a money earning project. Remember you can not make the "ask" if you are going to be doing direct solicitations. You will need to find an adult partner to help. If you, the Girl Scout, are hosting an event or project, then you need to obtain either non-membership (one site) or supplemental insurance. Your service center has the forms you need to purchase this. Cost is minimal - $5 and up. Taking pictures? You will need an Image Consent Release form for everyone participating in the event. Go to www.girlscoutstotem.org/FormsIndex.htm to get the PDF file. Obtain permission slips for any participants under the age of 18. Go to www.girlscoutstotem.org/FormsIndex.htm to get the PDF file. Record Your Project Keep a detailed Time Log and include the checklist from page 170 of your A Resource Book for Senior Girl Scouts (handbook). Keep a detailed list of income and expenses.
